Don't you just love it when things are mean't to be? Kenzi and I had emailed back and forth trying to work out a day that would work for her engagement session, but with busy schedules all around it was proving to be a difficult task! But when Kenzi suggested last Thursday - which happened to be perfect for us too - we couldn't get it on the calendar fast enough! Everything, even the beautiful weather, fell into place. It was as though it was meant to be all along.
I am so excited to share McKenzie and Nathan’s wedding with you today! I’ve written about them a couple of times on the blog already, (see those here and here) but in case you’re not familiar with this incredible couple - buckle up! I adore these two! And I’m not alone, their wedding day was filled with tons of love from their friends and family. It was such a sweet day and celebrating with them was the best!
Josh and Morgan both attended Ball State University - so it made perfect sense for them to have their wedding at the L.A. Pittenger Student Center on campus! And wow what a day it was!
Back in June Zach and I traveled to Chicago to meet up with Amanda and Paul for their engagement session! We actually started our day just outside of Chicago in a city called Naperville. The Naperville riverwalk is simply stunning!
What could be better than an incredible couple who is madly in love? Just add puppies!
Carlos and Taylor are an amazing couple! They met back in boarding school and became friends long before they started dating. But once they did - there was no looking back. From long distance to traveling thousands of miles to be together these two have a solid relationship that is rooted in friendship and centered around faith. It’s a beautiful thing!
They met by twist of fate. They both showed up late to rock climbing class while at IU (uhm.. coolest class ever!) and were partnered together by default. In rock climbing there is a phrase often used to ensure that your partner is safe and to let them know that you are there to support them. “On belay?” the climber will ask. “Belay on” the belayer will call. Total trust of your partner is required and together you work to help one another climb mountains.
The day before Kelsey and Nick’s wedding, Nick’s parents hosted the most beautiful rehearsal dinner at Empyrean Events in downtown Fort Wayne. This incredible space is located on the 26th floor of one of the tallest buildings in the city and it really is a magical place!
Over the years I have photographed all kinds of weddings at various venues. But it turns out, for years there has been a hidden gem nestled into New Castle, Indiana! With landscaped paths, blooming flowers and a large covered shelter, The Art Association of Henry County’s Art Park is a beautiful place for wedding and was the perfect spot for Cheyenne and James to say “I do!”
I've always found beauty in the unexpected. Perhaps this is why this moon child inspired elopement at the Ohio State Reformatory was so exciting to be apart of! The wallpaper is peeling, leaving only traces of the floral pattern that used to line the walls inside the former warden's quarters of the prison. I can only imagine the conversations that happened behind those doors.
