I have to admit, I'm a sucker for a super fun bridal party. And 2017 was absolutely full of them! To me, bridal parties aren't just a group of beautiful people in coordinating outfits hanging around your wedding venue. These are your people. Your tribe. They are your best friend since kindergarten, your college roomie or maybe your older brother. They are the people who know you best and have helped shape you into the person you are today. They're the ones you called first when you got engaged and the ones that will be there up until it's time to leave your reception for the night. To me, that's pretty darn cool. So I really mean it when I say I love getting to know bridal parties on your wedding day. They are troopers in sequin dresses. They are comrades in matching bow ties. They are your bridal party, and this blog post is for them.
(Once again - there's no order here, just my favorites!)
1.) Erynn's Pretty in Pink Bridesmaids
Why I love it: First of all, I need to tell you how much I LOVE that Erynn let her bridesmaid's select a dress that they felt amazing in. Each lady looked like a million bucks! Plus they fit the boho travel/garden wedding theme Erynn was going for. All of these beauties looked wonderful and whimsical and I loved every second of it.
2.) Blake and His Dapper Groomsmen
Why I love it: Blake and his guys were so much fun to work with! We didn't have a lot of time to get the shots we needed before getting the guys tucked away before the ceremony so we had to move fast. These guys were fantastic! Plus, they were the absolute masters of the casual walk. Just look at that coolness. Black and white was a must for this photo.
3.) Rachael and Seth's Small But Mighty Bridal Party
Why I love it: Well.. first of all - this photo just captures the adorableness of Emily and Adam. I mean.. look at that! Look how happy they are for the bride and groom! Second of all, this just goes to show that you don't have to have a massive bridal party to be surrounded by joy all day long. Emily and Adam were right there with Rachael and Seth all day. Emily helped Rachael with making sure her dress was just right and when we realized Rachael's veil was across the venue, Adam made a mad dash to go get it so she could have it for her photos. What a guy!
4.) Samantha's Ironworks Hotel Takeover
Why I love it: Oh man - this one was fun! Not only was Iron Works Hotel the most perfect place to get ready for the big day, but the staff was fully on board with Sam and her girls having some fun! We made sure to get some classics, but we also got some cool shots on the staircase and luggage carts. These ladies did not bat an eye when I suggested this shot and for that reason, they are absotuley in the top ten!
5.) Kirby's Sideshow
Why I love it: As if being able to take bridal party photos in the Children's Museum of Indianapolis wasn't cool enough already, the circus rolled into town (er.. uh...the museum) at the time of Kirby and Steven's wedding. With an "Under the Big Top" theme in the museum, Kirby and Steven fully embraced the fun and so did their bridal party! Kirby climbed in the cannon no questions asked and these guys brought it when I kept insisting they push the cartoonish moxy to the max. So. Much. Win.
6.) Corinne and Nate's Incredible Friends
Why I love it: Corinne and Nate’s wedding day was an absolute dream! The girls spent their morning helping one another with hair and makeup, laughing and having fun while music played in the back ground. The guys hung out outside playing corn hole and making jokes. I couldn’t help but notice how kind and caring each member of this bridal party was - each of them was 100% there for Corinne and Nate on their big day and that was pretty cool to see! Talk about awesome best friends!
7.) Zach's Dragon Ball Z Awesomeness
Why I love it: I'm a huge believer in celebrating your unique personality all throughout your wedding, but especially in your photos. So when Zach and his guys wanted to do a Dragon Ball Z inspired photo I was fully on board. Dragon Ball Z never looked so good!
8.) Wendy and Eli's Leading Lineup
Why I love it: Wendy and Eli’s bridal party was full of friends and family, which I just loved. Everyone was in such good spirits and having fun with the bride and groom through out the day. And you should have seen all of them on the dance floor! They even danced the speaker off the shelf!
9.) Erynn and Danny's Cheer Squad
Why I love it: Erynn and Danny take the cake for a few different things this year - but easily one of the best parts of their wedding day was their bridal party. This talented group was full of musicians and members of the local theatre (no surprise there, so are Erynn and Danny!) so from the ceremony to the reception they kept the fun coming! One bridesmaid even traveled from another country to celebrate. Plus, just look at how thrilled they were for the happy couple!
10.) Kirby and Her Supporting Act
Why I love it: There is no doubt that this is not your average bridal party photo. But the thing is, that’s why I love it! We didn’t have a ton of time in the museum so we had to act fast! But everyone was totally on board with finding a fun way to pose to make this shot everything that it is! Seriously though, aren’t they adorable?
