I love everything about weddings. The moment before the doors to the ceremony open and the bride walks down the aisle. The first dance shared between the happy couple. But I really love the one on one time I get with brides for their bridal portraits. Being able to capture a bride’s outer beauty while bringing out her inner beauty makes my heart sing. Here are some of my favorite bridal beauty portraits from 2017!
Why I love it: This is a classic bridal beauty portrait! Callie was every bit the elegant bride and rocked her photos. You can really see her joy in those gorgeous eyes of hers. This is a photo that I hope will be passed down for generations!
Why I love it: Ashley and Trey’s wedding was Alice in Wonderland inspired, so we wanted to incorporate that into her bridal session. We found the perfect spot and tried to replicate that feeling of getting lost in an enchanted world with out going overboard. I think we nailed it!
Why I love it: After I got Erynn into place, I told Danny to stand behind me and to my left. I then instructed Erynn to look at her husband to be and imagine their life together. This was the result. Be still my heart.
Why I love it: I feel that this image represents Jennifer’s strength. She is always up for any challenge and does so with a positive attitude, which I love!
Why I love it: Angie is a total rockstar. Literally seconds before this shot was taken, this very swing turned on us. It was super slippery and it caused Angie to slip almost totally off the swing! Zach and I grabbed her arms and for a second we all made eye contact - hoping she was ok. Angie burst out laughing which of course set off a chain reaction of laughter. But Angie got right back up on that swing and served up this gorgeousness! Have I mentioned how awesome Angie is?
Why I love it: Sam was a beaming bride all day long! You could tell she was so happy to be getting married to Travis. I love this shot because you can see her joy even in this quick shot taken outside of Ironworks Hotel! And can we talk about how she was literally a picture perfect bride? Gah!
Why I love it: I had the honor of photographing Alexandra and Jordan’s wedding back in April. Through out our time working together we bonded over our mutual love for animals and Alex shared with me that she loves horses. So when she asked me if we could do a post wedding bridal session with her horses I nearly jumped up and down.. ok.. I actually jumped up and down! I love this shot of Alex doing what she does best - in her stunning wedding dress no less!
Why I love it: In an earlier blog post I shared some photos of Corinne with a huge smile across her face and talked about her joy. But what I also love about her is her ability to take a step back, breathe and soak things in. As she was posing for her bridal portraits a light spring wind picked up - blowing her hair in the most beautiful way and she just went with it. Love that!
Why I love it: I can still hear Alexis’s laugh when I look at this photo and I am immediately taken back to her and Scott’s stunning wedding day this past fall at Davis Park. She has the best laugh and it was 100% contagious!
Why I love it: This photo is not your typical bridal photo. Most bridal portraits are filled with bright, clean light and of course, a white dress. But I love that this shows that your wedding can be anything you want it to be - after all - it is your wedding! And I love celebrating that fact! Plus, Jordan totally rocked this look! Just look at how elegant she is!
I already have one of Ashley listed above, but this shot of her in the bridal suite of The Barn at Hawks Point is just too good not to include!
