Corinne and Nate are one of those couples who love one another so much that you can almost feel their love tangibly. They met due to their shared love of bow hunting and haven't looked back since. Love is one of those things that from somewhere deep inside your soul - you just know. Like an old friend you recognize but aren't quite sure how. It was like that for Corinne and Nate. So when Nate asked Corinne to be his wife - he tied her engagement ring to her bow - the same spot on the bow that she needed help with the day they met and she said yes. She just knew.
I met Nate and Corinne along with Corinne's parents months ago when they were still in the beginning stages of wedding planning. We laughed for what was probably hours at Starbucks that night and I remember thinking on my drive home how much I hoped they'd pick me as their photographer. This family is special. They laugh easily and love fiercely - it's contagious. Plus Corinne and I realized right away that we have a lot in common, like our mutual love for old typewriters! This realization was only confirmed during Corinne and Nate's engagement session where we blew on dandelions, explored grassy fields, found the coolest old truck and loved on puppies. Such a good day! (Check out their engagement session here)
Their wedding day was equally as full of incredible moments. One of my favorite things about Corinne and Nate's wedding story is that they booked their venue before it was built! They took a giant leap of faith - and boy, did they stick the landing. The Roan Farm is easily one of the most lovely new wedding venues in Indiana, they've thought of everything! I also really enjoyed seeing all of the special relationships and the joyful friends that surrounded the bride and groom on their wedding day. The bridal party was off the charts cool! I had so much fun with the bridesmaids and the groomsmen were silly, but such great guys! (They knew exactly what I meant when I told them to do their best "flying V" from The Mighty Ducks!) From preschool to frat brothers to actual siblings - these friends were so obviously supportive of Corinne and Nate and they made the day so great!
The bride and groom's families also played a huge part in that great time. Family drove in from numerous states to celebrate and they sure had a blast! Aunts, uncles and grandparents could be seen prepping the appetizers and Corinne's dad, Jim, was a blur as he buzzed around the venue helping to add the final touches to the decor. However, he was dressed and ready right on time to share in a very special father of the bride reveal. Jim's eyes welled with tears as Corinne's mom, Alicia looked on. Later that evening, Jim would surprise his little girl with a song written just for her that would leave no dry eyes in the place, including my own.
Their ceremony was one of my favorites to date. The rain cleared and sun came out just in time for Corinne to walk down the pew lined aisle. I watched from behind my camera as Nate saw his bride for the first time. Tears fell down his face as his brother and best man, Michael, put his arm around him. Corinne's veil, worn by her mama on her wedding day, flowed in the light breeze. The moment truly was remarkable and for just a few seconds, I'm certain that time stood still.
The rest of the evening went by quickly. Following an incredible dinner the bride and groom shared their first dance under the twinkling light in the barn. Not long after that they enjoyed a dollar dance that even included coin belts! So fun! The littlest guests at the wedding were the hit of the always full dance floor but Nate's mom and brother gave them a run for their money. Little girls looked at Corinne like she was a real life princess.. which let's be honest, she kind of was. The day was perfect. As we packed up and headed out for the evening, music filled the night air and the glow of those twinkle lights could been seen from across the field as we drove home. Corinne and Nate's special day was filled with so much joy and love and I could not be happier for them.
Congratulations Corinne and Nate!
