On Sunday evening Zach and I met up with Morgan and Josh for their engagement photos in downtown Carmel. They recently moved to the area, so it only made sense to have their session in their new neighborhood. We explored a few different areas in the downtown Carmel area - starting with the Carmel Arts District and then wrapping up our session with some sunset photos at the Japanese Gardens just behind the Carmel courthouse. It was the perfect early fall evening and I am so glad that we got to spend it with Morgan and Josh!
Morgan and Josh have been together for awhile. They met at a friends party years ago when Morgan ran into the kitchen and asked who Josh was. Josh immediately knew there was something special about this meeting. But so did Morgan. She told her youth pastor the next day that she was going to date this Josh guy. I'm a big believer in the "when you know, you know" theory, and Morgan and Josh both just knew.
Over the years these two have accomplished a lot, both individually and together. College graduations, internships, first jobs, new cars, a move to Carmel and a cat named Padme to name a few. They fearlessly support one another and I love that about them.
One thing that stands out to me about Morgan and Josh is their proposal story. Josh put so much thought into his proposal to Morgan. He took her to her favorite place, Brown County, Indiana and rented a cabin. Unbeknownst to Morgan, Josh had asked his friend to decorate the cabin with rose petals and white lights while they were out to dinner. (Serious props to this friend - I am so going to give you a high five at the wedding for being so awesome!) When they arrived back at the cabin after dinner, Josh gave Morgan a book that he had made that told their story and the different dates that stood out in their relationship. The second to last page said “today is the day that I…” with a blank line to write in a date. When Morgan turned the page their was a photo of the ring with the word “proposed.” The rest is history.
I love how thoughtful Josh is and I adore Morgan’s sense of humor and quick wit. Together they make the perfect pair and I know that as they start the next chapter of their lives they are only going to add to their list of amazing accomplishments together, hand in hand.
Congratulations, Morgan and Josh!
