SmithHouse | Emerald Styled Shoot
During the months of November through March I generally don’t have too many weddings so I am able to focus on a variety of other things that are vital to running my business. This “slow” season is anything but slow really but it does allow me to dedicate some time to flexing my creative muscles and to network with other creatives in the wedding industry. One of my favorite ways to do that is to attend styled shoots! Lucky for me, my friend Kaylee is a styled shoot wizard and loves putting them together. This month’s shoot was appropriately emerald themed!
The venue for this enchantingly emerald event was SmithHouse in Noblesville, Indiana. The warm brick is inviting and the you immediately feel welcomed the second you walk in the door! I first met owner Stephanie at a networking event last year and was immediately drawn to her passion for her special corner of the wedding venue world. You can tell she puts tons of love into SmithHouse - and believe me, it shows. So if you are still on the hunt for a wedding venue in the greater Indianapolis area - give Stephanie a call!
This shoot was full of lush greens and beautiful blooms stylized by the always amazing Julie of Julie’s Flowers of Geist LLC. If you keep up with the blog you know that I am a huge fan of Julie’s and love seeing her work her magic! But just when I thought it couldn’t get any better - Melissa from Sweet Lilly’s Heavenly Desserts provided the most beautiful and delicious cupcakes for the shoot. And the best part? She brought extra so everyone could have one. It was honestly one of the best cupcakes I have ever had. So good!
Cari of Interprintations went above and beyond to make sure we had the most beautiful invitations that were so rich in color that it made my heart sing! Plus she didn’t stop there! She whipped up some amazing laser cut designs as well. Invitation suites are one of my personal favorite things to photograph as it really helps set the color story for the entire wedding. Pro tip: if you mail me your invitation suite prior to your wedding I will have a blast stylizing and photographing it before your wedding. This both saves time AND allows me to get some really cool shots for you!
Kaylee always does a great job with planning these shoots, but this time she went the extra mile by having not one but TWO brides! Whhhhat. One bride even brought her real life finance to model, how cool is that? They’ll make an appearance later in this post, but for now I want to share some of the images I took of Katherine. She is so beautiful!
Between the beautiful dress from Beloved Brides that fit her like a glove and the gorgeous hair and makeup she looked every bit the breathtaking bride. I worked with Moriah Justin during the last styled shoot I went to and her makeup skills are always impressive! To finish out her bridal look, Katherine had dainty bridal jewelry and a hair clip from Liefore. Gorgeous!
Oh and here is the other couple I was telling you about! Don’t you just love his navy suit and emerald tie? I do! If you need any groom accessories for your big day (or cool groomsmen gifts!) please check out Groomsday - they seriously have you covered! My personal favorite is their "Bro Box" which comes with a personalized tie, tie clip and pocked square - all in a neat little box. I love this idea because it guarantees that your groomsmen (or father of the bride etc) are looking their best on your big day and they will have something special to keep.
And here is our fearless leader herself - Kaylee! Her shirt is great but her spirit is better. I'm so glad that I get to call this creative mastermind my friend!
Another amazing shoot is in the record books! Stay tuned for next months shoot - hint: this one isn't in Indiana!
